Product upgrade notes
IMPORTANT: You must apply the Axiom Software 2019.4 upgrade before applying any 2019.4 Axiom product upgrades. Axiom Software upgrades are backwards compatible so you can upgrade different products at different times, but you must upgrade to the Axiom Software 2019.4 before the first product upgrade. Refer to the Axiom Software 2019.4 Release Notes and Axiom Healthcare Suite 2019.4 Release Notes for considerations before upgrading. Apply this update ONLY if you have already applied the release and completed all the manual setup steps from the corresponding release notes.
When upgrading to the 2019.4 version of Axiom Cost Accounting, keep in mind the following:
- This product upgrade contains updated templates, calculation methods, driver files, and remediated defects.
- KHA delivered reports may be removed or replaced. Any report that you saved under a different name or created new will remain untouched. Replaced reports are available in Document History, if needed.
- Any KHA delivered report that was moved to a new location by the client will automatically move back to its original location.
- KHA product templates and calculation method libraries will be replaced.
-
Process definitions will not be replaced. Process Manager will not currently work with the new system tables and web-based pages and utilities. Consequently, please plan on reviewing and potentially revising any Cost Accounting Process Definitions depending on the scope and what tasks have been created and are in use.
-
Security roles and sub-systems will be reset to their configured settings for the Axiom defined roles. All security exceptions you may have made at the individual user level will remain intact.
-
Specific items configured as part of your company or organization's implementation such as imports, exports, driver files, and process management files, will remain as is. Any required modifications to these areas are covered in the release notes, if required. For example, Process Manager defined processes for Cost Accounting will need to be modified by Client Success and has limitations with accessing web-based tasks.

2019.4 - Known issues resolved
The following table lists the resolutions for issues addressed in 2019.4, released on December 16th, 2019:
Issue | Description |
---|---|
PFB-07948 - CGL.TOT does not equal sum of P1 through P12 for some Microcost Offset accounts [TFS 38312] |
Issue: While troubleshooting Microcost, the TOT column on the CGL did not tie to the sum of columns for P1 through P12. Resolution: Corrected by updating the Markup and Micro Cost GL and CostResults Posting.axi as well as the Transaction Microcost GL & CostResults Posting.axi files to coalesce P1-P12 to zero instead of null. |
PFB-08033 - Cost Assignment Tasks in incorrect order [TFS 39069] |
Issue: When running cost assignment, job #2 - Summarize Cost Detail Categories, the system does not include Encounter cost, despite CDCC and CostDetail reconciling properly. Resolution: Corrected by reordering tasks by moving the Sum Cost Detail Totals to Encounters task below the Sum Cost Detail Category to Cost Detail Totals task. This was required as the Encounters task is dependent on the Cost Detail task. |
PFB-08050 - Audit_01 Income Statement Summary should include 'Non Operating Revenue - Other [TFS 39207] |
Issue: The Audit_01 Income Statement Summary report should include the Non Operating Revenue – Other similar to how the Income Statement By Entity includes the field, otherwise there will be discrepancies between the two reports. Resolution: Corrected by adding the NonOpOther value into the Non-Operating Income section of the Income Statement Summary. |
PFB-08227 - Cost/DSS Summary Dashboard total too small [TFS 40591] |
Issue: In the Cost Accounting Reconciliation dashboard, a key for showing a user their dollars start to finish fails to render because the totals display as ########## if the amount is over 999,999,999. Resolution: Corrected by setting the column width to 20 to accommodate up to 1,000,000,000,000. |
PFB-08302 - Typos in Encounter.ActualPatientPayments column description [TFS 41200] |
Issue: The column description for Encounter.ActualPatientPayments includes multiple typos. Resolution: Corrected spelling errors in the column description. |
WebUI: Any table column that is Date data type cannot be edited and saved from the dimension maintenance page [TFS 36259] |
Issue: The system displays an error message when a user edits date columns. Resolution: Corrected by adding a loop to convert all numeric dates to actual dates before submitting the page. |
Web UI: Allocation definitions with single quotes in the title cause scheduler jobs to fail [TFS 34431] |
Issue: If an allocation definition includes single quotes in its title, the scheduler job "Allocation Processing" fails during processing. Resolution: Corrected by now supporting some special characters, including a single quote, in the Description of Allocation Rule/Title column on the Allocations screen. |
2019.4.1 - Known issues resolved
The following table lists the resolutions for issues addressed in 2019.4.1, released on January 27th, 2020:
Issue | Description |
---|---|
Web UI: Modify Frontend Scheduled Job API/Interface for UnitCostCalculations (RVU, RCC, RCU, Provider RVU) to remove filter [TFS 41972] |
Issue: The Unit Cost Calculations page controls a scheduled job (Cost Calculation Utility.axj) by passing variables to it, including a potential department filter that is concatenated onto a default/implied filter (not accessible to the user). The department filter needs to be removed to speed up the processing time due to the new partitioning of the CostResults and CostResultsUsage tables, which are the target tables for the scheduled job. Resolution: Corrected by removing the department filter option in the Unit Cost Calculations page. |
2019.4.2 - Known issues resolved
No client facing issues were addressed in 2019.4.2, released on February 10th, 2020.
2019.4.3 - Known issues resolved
No client facing issues were addressed in 2019.4.3, released on March 9th, 2020.
2019.4.4 - Known issues resolved

2019.4.5 - Known issues resolved
The following table lists the resolutions for issues addressed in 2019.4.5, released on January 11th, 2021:
Issue | Description |
---|---|
RCU calculations not appearing [TFS 74814] |
Issue: The RCU Calculator includes a transform step (#17) that filters out any department that is not a parent department, which causes the system to prevent costResults records from being created. This occurs when a costmap includes usage (CostItemUsage) and method definitions, but the children department are used as the base expense on the CGL table without being accompanied by the parent department. Resolution: Corrected by removing an unnecessary filter from transform "step 17: Establish working table of departments". |
IsNumeric() method not found error on 2019.4 Costing dashboard on 2020.3 platform [TFS 73671] |
Issue: When upgrading to platform version 2020.3.16, several cost assignment pages in the Axiom Cost Accounting dashboards display an IsNumeric() method error. Resolution: Corrected by creating a build of the existing Axiom Cost Accounting 2019.4 version to be compatible with the latest Axiom platform software. This allows a client to upgrade to the Axiom Cost Accounting 2019.4 without actually changing the behavior of the product and to allow clients to upgrade to the latest Axiom platform. Keep in mind the following:

2019.4.6 - Known issues resolved
The following table lists the resolutions for issues addressed in 2019.4.6, released on February 15th, 2021:
Issue | Description |
---|---|
2019.4 CostDetailBase & CostDetailTotalCost allows duplicate transactionids [TFS 80059] |
Issue: Running an import that saves to the CostDetailBase and updates an existing servicedate may cause a duplicate transaction to be created. Resolution: Corrected by adding a new transformation to the beginning of the CostDetailStaging to CostDetail import that updates the serviceyrmo for any transactionid where the imported serviceyrmo is different than the one stored in the database. IMPORTANT: See the Add new transformation step to customized version of Import CostDetail from Staging.axi for instructions on configuration steps you may need to complete related to this resolved defect. |
Manual configuration instructions
Add new transformation step to customized version of Import CostDetail
A new transformation step has been added to the \Axiom\Imports Library\Costing\02 Internal Data\Import CostDetail from Staging.axi that prevents duplicate record creation in the CostDetailBase table. Many clients use a customized version of this import, so you may need to add this new transformation step to your version.
The best way to do this is to identify the import that your organization uses to import cost detail records and, if the version you are using does not point to \Axiom\Imports Library\Costing\02 Internal Data\Import CostDetail from Staging.axi, then you will need to copy transfromation step 1 from \Axiom\Imports Library\Costing\02 Internal Data\Import CostDetail from Staging.axi to your version.
